Google New Sitemaps introduced in Google Webmaster Tools

Google Sitemaps are now available in many different shapes and forms for different website content usage. Google Sitemaps have introduced the new RSS Sitemap, Video Sitemaps and Image Sitemaps for website owners and webmasters to add specialized sitemaps for their multimedia website content.

First What is a Sitemap ?

Sitemaps are files with XML format that contain website content. Sitemaps contain a list of URLs for your website pages, posts, pictures, videos, and other file types. Search engines use this sitemap to easily identify your website architecture and content with a quick look at your XML formated sitemaps. Search engines take a look at your website sitemap to identify new website content to be crawled and then indexed ( cached ) in their search engine index.

Website Google Sitemaps

This is the main sitemap for your website that Google uses to index your different pages and posts of your website into their search engine. Its very important to have an XML Sitemap for your website so that search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing can crawl and index your website into their search engines. Google now introduced a separate website sitemap to identify internal webpages and posts while having more specialized sitemaps for other website content material.

Google have introduced a specialized Video Sitemap for listing video content of websites. This new video sitemap will allow Google to deliver faster video search results to its users. You need to add your Google video sitemap to your website to allow faster crawling and indexing of your website video collection to start showing in Google Video Results.
